If just the thought of going to the dentist makes your stomach feel funny and your heart race, you’re not alone! Dental anxiety affects millions of people, causing them to avoid necessary dental care and harming their oral and overall health.
At Hall Dental Group, we strive to help patients overcome their fear of the dentist. Whether you’d like to consider one of our sedation options, spend time with our therapy dog, or both, we’re here to help you feel safe and comfortable every step of the way.
Our Sedation Dentistry Options at Hall Dental Group
Our dental office in Cookeville gives patients the choice of two sedation dentistry options:
- Nitrous oxide — We can administer a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small mask over your nose. You’ll breathe normally during your treatment, but the “laughing gas” will make you feel calm and worry-free. Nitrous oxide wears off quickly once we remove the mask, and you’ll be ready to go back to work or school shortly afterward.
- Oral sedation — If you prefer, we can prescribe a pill for you to take before your appointment. Someone will drive you to our office, and you’ll be relaxed for the duration of your time with us. You may not remember your dental visit, but you’ll be awake and responsive. After your appointment, it’s best to go home and rest for the remainder of the day.
Meet Brownie, Our Therapy Dog
Another option for keeping you calm and stress-free during your dental visits comes in the form of our furry friend, Brownie! As the resident therapy dog at Hall Dental Group, Brownie enjoys snuggling with patients, helping them relax and receive the care they need.
Brownie loves meeting new people, so stop by to say hello if you’re in the area!
